Several Things are Worth Paying Extra

As we all struggle to keep savings and preparing for possible income losses should we find ourselves the recipients of a pink slip, there are still a few places where money isn’t everything and it may be worth it to spend a bit more in some areas. Here are a list of things where more money the better seems to be your best bet.

Eliminating Debt

Reducing your debt as fast as you are capable means you will be working towards a more secure future financially. Even if you have to take some cash from savings to get out of debt, the more it will allow you to save in the long run because you don’t have to waste cash on high interest charges as time goes on.

Legal/Financial Advisement

When you have to seek advice from an expert whether it be for financial or legal matters, you will likely have to spend a little cash to get the premium assistance. If you are clueless about investing, it can be money well-spent if you entrust the decisions and direction of a professional in the field rather than lose your hard earned money winging your decisions. It can cost you a lot more money if you chose to not admit to your financial inexperience rather than if you hired an expert.

Pay Into Your Savings

While you may have to raid your savings to get out of debt, there should not be any reason for you to find a way to replace it and continue to add to your savings. If your employee matches money into your 401k, you are missing out on some cash you can’t afford to miss.

Cash for Some Indulgences

While you can’t go crazy with the luxuries, it can be bad for your psyche to keep working without a little play. Set aside some fun money within your budget that you can use for a vacation, or at least a night out. Avoid using credit cards at all cost to finance the fun and just keep on saving for bigger and better fun times.

Professional Services

If you are not an expert mechanic, refrigerator repairman, or the like, you should still pay to have such services done for you. Not only will it help you save time, you can end up spending more money to fix what you have broken in your quest for trying to do-it-yourself. Still look for coupons or customer discounts to help save on costs of such repairs but by all means, do get help. Also, make sure you pay for regular maintenance around the house and with the cars. If you let the regular fix-its go, you can end up spending much more money on replacements or major repairs.

While a savings mentality is important in these economic times, it is also important to remain flexible and use a bit of common sense when it comes to your budget and your overall finances. Spend wisely, save a lot and still find some all-important fun time.
