Changing Your Attitudes About Money and Success
How would you like to have as much money as Microsoft’s Bill Gates? What about renown investor and businessman Warren Buffett? Talk show hostess Oprah Winfrey? Entertainment giants Gloria and Emilio Estefan?
Impossible, you say? Well, maybe we’re reaching a tad high. But we can point to a number of people who started from nothing and managed to build a net worth of at least $1 million. Just read our other best-selling book, Rags to Riches. We even found more examples for our sequel, More Rags to Riches. It’s definitely not out of the realm of possibilities.
One trait we observed during our interviews: Many successful people stopped believing they couldn’t be successful. They refused to believe that the rich were another breed or any different from them. They shunned lotteries, with their extremely unfavorable odds. They ignored the negative feed-back of teachers and friends. They read a lot or attended seminars. They figured out what they enjoyed doing, set objectives with that in mind, and took advantage of opportunities to reach those goals.
Even if you haven’t quite managed to develop a Microsoft Windows program and you have a lousy voice and television presence, there’s hope. The trick is to take hold of the reins on your financial life, regardless of what you do for a living. Do you have a negative net worth that you’d like to reverse? Go for it! Would you like to live a more luxurious life than you currently have? Let’s make it happen!
